More changes that are reflecting the new season we have begun can be seen in this New York Times article dated January 20, 2010. "With New Films, CBS Charts Tough Middle Course", by Brooks Barnes
In discussing the movie "Extraordinary Measures", which is an adult drama- Ms. Basinger of CBS Film says, "The secret in making these movies a celebration of a heroic stance -give audiences something they always love, which is a person working against all odds can make a difference."
In recent history many filmmakers have not wanted to make movies about adult drama. Their concerns are that audiences aren't willing to buy tickets to this type of movie. HeirBorne Media Productions are of the opinion that there is a need for movies with meaning. Finally, the changes in this industry are beginning to reflect our sentiment; Heirborne is on the cutting edge.
The article also says; "The Shamberg's who are a married couple, along with their producing partner Stacy Sher, were behind Erin Brockovich- the 2000 hit that sold over $256 million at Worldwide box office and won Julia Roberts an Academy Award. Mr. Shamberg states: "people want to see good, old fashioned storytelling. There's a whole marketplace for well-made adult drama's".
We have great movies with meaning. Contact us about buying our movies.
December 12, 2008,
Wall Street Journal. The head-line read, "Media Industry's Trials and Tribune-ations".
The article could be summed up in its first sentence: "The media industry is entering its own version of the subprime crises."
This article goes on to state Tribune had filled for chapter 11 bankruptcy that kicked off what is likely to be a long and costly lender driven restructuring of the media industry over the next couple of years. Martin Peers the author of this piece went on to write that Tribune was only one of three $10 Billion plus leveraged buyouts in media along side the $12.3 Billion buyout of Spanish language broadcaster Univision earlier and the $18 Billion buyout of radio broadcaster Clear Channel.
There are many changes that continue to occur in media, changes that open up opportunities for many. Heirborne is a company that that has a message to share. Watch for movies, books and blogs from us.
